Looking at Autometer gauges and I'm wondering how they measure them.
Is it the readable area or does the 2 1/16 measurement include the gauge bezel?
Called to late tonight and they are closed.

Any benefit going to an electronic speedo over mechanical?

Measurement is the diameter of the body of the gauge, that goes through the hole in instrument panel.

The 2 1/16 gauges will normally slide right into a 2" hole opening.

Main benefit to mechanical is the plumbing. No tubing to pinch or leak, or run through the firewall. Electrical are usually a bit more expensive, but easier to install and plumb/wire.

With the electric Speedo you will have to get the hall effect sending unit for the transmission. But calibrations is a easy as putting the speedo in cal mode and then driving like 2 miles and it its set. It is nice if you change tire size or gear ratios.
