Its a slippery slope....I was thinking about buying a column mounted tach then saw that there is a repro factory tach available although not highly touted. It does look a lot better. Now I see people are installing aftermarket tachs. Since I might have to take my cluster out (should have thought about this when I had the dash out last summer :BangHead: ) this looked like a nicer option although I don't want an 8000 or 10000 rpm tach and I don't see a proper looking 6000 rpm tach available. I was thinking I could buy a middle of the road tach and get a custom overlay. Has anybody done this? Here is a mock-up done with an online tool. The dimensions are only approx. This is the closest font I could find and I would like to wrap the 'RPMX100' like the factory did.

I did see that and it will help. I just need to find a tach I like that looks right in the cluster or one that fits that I can overlay.

I mount my tachs on the A-Pillar using one of the existing screws. That way it sits up high enough to see but not directly in your line of vision.

I have a Stewart Warner 3&3/8" sidewinder tach I will use in the 69 in the rallye dash tach hole. I will just paint the pointer to match the rest when I restore the dash.
