might be a dumb one.... but here goes.
I just got a "Charger 225" air cleaner (top n bottom) from a guy on the other forum.
I know it was made for a 1bbl. I also know that a BBD neck is a little bigger.
Ideas wanted on either 1) making the base fit my BBD without it looking cobbled
or 2) using an alternate base under that lid
or 3) making an alternate base that will fit under that lid from scratch?

I did not measure but I am running a Carter BBD, this housing was made for a BBS. more specifically a mid 70s "tin top" version originally made for a 318.
I lucked out last year and found a genuine NOS BBD. That's what I'm gonna use.
not a reman, not a China repop. List number BBD 6537

what you need for a BBD is a 273 "Unsilenced" air cleaner.
Looks like the /6 housing only a little bigger, and has a BBD base.
( ignore the 4bbl under it, it's a non factory base)

These air cleaners like I have are hard enough to find these days, that sounds like it would be even harder to find because of how short of time they made the 273 vs how long they made the /6. But I like the idea.
