Can anyone tell me if the 10 inch un silenced air cleaner for the 273 Comando had the valve cover breather nipple in 1965? Could not remember if the 1965 Dart GT I had back in 1966 had one or not. I may try to buy one, but in my search all the ones I have found have the nipple.

Only if it was a California car, not sure is the CAP package was on 65s

My 65 Formula S Barracuda w/273 Commando air cleaner did not have the breather nipple connection. Car was purchased new in Michigan. 65'

Thanks, I did not think the '65 I had years ago had one but could not remember. Will keep looking!

My 65 (owned since 1968) did not have the nipple.

Some slant sixes and early sixties big block V8's used the same air cleaner top as the hi-po 273. (Not all of either, but some.) They were not chromed, but can be chromed. I have found several over the years without the nipple. You would still need a base for a slant six top, but if you're running a later carb the original base won't work anyway. The big block version would have the correct base for a small throat four barrel.

Here's a chromed slant six top on my 56 Plymouth.
