air flilter size

Looking to see what size air filter you are running on your car. I have a 408 in a duster with a air gap intake and I am trying to see if a 14x3 air filter with a drop base will fit? By measuring it looks close but I would like to know before I buy one.

Take a piece of string and tape it from one inner fender (horizontal area where your hood bumpers are), to the other over your carb. Then measure from the string to the carb (where an air filter will go). This is how tall of an airfilter you can use. Drop base nets you may be 1/2", or at most 3/4" more. Not sure if there are any 1.0" drop bases out there. Others might chime in with other options as well.
