Alloy wheel repair kits

has anyone tried a alloy wheel repair kit on damaged alloy rims? The filler looks similar to auto body putty but I was wondering if JB Weld would a better choice for a 1” square shallow chunk thats missing off one of the spokes.

I would send it to a wheel repair specialist, if the spoke has a fracture that you can't see it might be hazardous to the health of your car, not to mention you. Just my thought, I wouldn't want to be the test pilot.
