Aluminum steering box?

Evening, and Happy New Year!
Just a couple quick question(s). Did manual steering boxes have aluminum cases? Found this jewel in the weeds recently. It has been so long since I've looked at a manual box that I wondered if this was unusual, or maybe it's something other than aluminum.
A related issue (with this car), it has a 3 speed on the floor. Would this same hump be used for the 4 speed OD tranny?

Nearly all, if not all, manual steering boxes had aluminum housings.

i dont know about steering box, but the floor hump should be them same

All the '62-up nonpower steering boxes have an aluminum housing, yes.
