I took my Dart out last night for a little cruise. I was about 10 miles from my house when the drive shaft decided it was done for the night. Luckily I coasted into a drive way that belongs to two car mechanic shops. Luckily there was some one there to help me, but they wouldnt be able to fix my car until today. I called my dad (which lives 10 minutes away) to come and get me. So, here I am waiting for the call from the shop.
 
Yes, I forgot to mention, it was the U-joints. I'm considering buying a drive shaft loop. I would hate to imagine what would happen if the front dropped.
 
Get the permanently lubed solid high strength style, they'll last much longer and can stand quite a bit of abuse. Not that much more expensive either.
 
Im a lot luckier than you. My rear u joint in my M body let go in the driveway in spectacular style. Parts flying everywhere,big bang sound...yikes!

Never heard of a solid permanently lubes u joint before...any particular brand?
 
Yup, especially seeing as how I was backing uphill into my driveway at night after grocery shopping. U joint blows up and the big tank starts rolling downhill...had to slam on the parking brake and pray!lol..

Be sure to double check your applications, these are just examples. These joints are far stronger without the holes drilled for grease.

I was there the other day. Took the Dart to get some gas, after all the needle was above empty...when will I learn?, and ran out. I used the cell and called my wife. I stayed with the car and some punk a$$ Mustang driver pulled over and
offered to help...I knew he was laughing inside. I wanted to tell him let me gas her up and I whoop you and your car. Being the ever gracious Mopar owner I am.....
