So I got under the car to better access the fuel filter a few days ago, and eventually got to assessing the rest of the under-car area, including the dented-up oil pan (will need a new one, probably toss it on with the next oil change). I noticed that my bell housing was "open..." Literally, I could stick my hand up into it and feel the flywheel and such....

Am I missing a cover or something? If so, does anyone happen to have a spare, possibly with the hardware?

Thanks,

Yeah, it's a little stamped sheet metal plate, called an 'inspection cover' you can go steal one off a car at the JY. If you have a v8, they should be on pretty much any old 318 or 360. You've gotta pull the starter off though.

they keep mud and dirt / moisture out of the bellhousing and starter. it is also an access panel to the converter bolts. i havent had one on my duster in two years. i just avoid mud puddles

what size engine and bellhousing are you running? PM me i may have one
