Am I Missing a Part?

1968 cuda, 4-sp w/console . Am assembling interior after long storage. I have shifter in place and have the lower rubber boot in place ( not the boot in the console itself). Isn't there supposed to be a chrome, oval retaining ring to secure this lower boot? Sorry, memory is not as good as it was. Thanks.

64/65’s used a chrome round ring to secure the boot. 66’s used an oval ring so I suspect 67 would be the same

I believe there is a ring. With a console shifter I'm not sure if it would be chrome or not?

I don't think with the console, that it used the chrome ring.
