Blazing Apostle
It safe to assume there are some here that like old school and tend to be nostalgic.
So I'm giving a nod to this movie.
Just happened to find it and watched it last night on netflix.
It wont get much attention of ET, but I found the premise delightful.
The aliens high tech weaponry doesnt work on WW II technology.
Plus what little boy worth his salt doesnt like battleships with those big guns?
The acting for the most part, isnt awful. Except for the poor guy that plays the admiral.
Peebles does a remarkably good job. And there are hot ladies in tight pants and low cut shirts.
The special effects are extremely low budget.
If they would have had more to work with like actual footage in The Final Countdown or better computer FX, then a thinner Independence Day comes to mind.
Its almost like they thought: We realize the special effects are cheesy. Lets focus on what we can. And well even make the aliens over the top goofy. Not too scary. Sort of like evil floating fairys.
The movie is a salute to the Iowa and it's Class.
