just got the grill from the 83 D-150 fixed up,, the folks doing the polish job recommended having the anodizing removed befor polish,,or the $ for the polish job goes up because it takes more time...
the folks at Industrial Anodizing here in Indy stripped the anodizing for free, if I brought it back for anodizing after polish.
this is a big piece of aluminum so the polish was a bit pricy, but it looks better than new, Industrial Anodizing did the re anodize job for 90.00
Williamson Polish and Plating also in Indy did the polish work, nice folks who did great work..The anodizing removal and re anodize was next day service, the polish work was much longer, they had the grill for almost 5 weeks, but they had told me that up front.
the grill looks super..
by doing the leg work myself I got the 83 D-150 grill like new for less than 1/2 of what I was quoted by one of those trim restoration companies that frequent the mopar shows....
to find someone more local to you google,, anodizing , aluminum polishing, plating... metal treating...that is how I found these two shops , then I took the part to them for a look see and quote. I had looked at several shops....
