Sorry to be the bearer of bad Mopar news, but I was just at the local LKQ here in rainy, humid Huntsville AL, and there's a '76 R/T there on it's way to China to be made into more disposable junk for the masses here to buy.

They don't sell whole cars, so that one is a goner. Looks like somebody had it for sale but no takers here in Chevyland. It's pretty rotten too and all the valuable pieces are busted or gone. I checked, believe me.

I did snag the tag for posterity, here's the codes if anyone likes to decode them for fun:

26 L1 10 676

J25 M21 N37 R32 R35

C56 G11 G54 G66 G76 H51

TX9 U 1 A57 A66 B41 C16

TX9 D6X9 000 601 133200

E57 D33 NL29 K6B 367464

The QC on those cars was so bad, I'm surprised even China would take it.

I saw a rust free T top Aspen 318 R/T with a near perfect interior, go from $1200 down to $600, and then presumably to scrap.

I was buying my house at the time, and couldn't spare $5.

I was very sad, though.

Yeah...aside from the white 4 speed that guy has been perfecting on the other board, I don't think those cars will ever be in demand. I was surprised that car I saw didn't even have a tach or dual-inlet air cleaner.

I own a really clean '85 Gran Fury AHB cop mobile that was spared a hard life by being an arson investigation car, then was bought at auction by an older friend of mine. Cost me a core 401 AMC motor and a few hundred bucks. 92K on the odo, interior is perfect, exterior has the dreaded clear coat peel.
Bought a running/driving '88 GF cop car last September from Island County. $330. It's beat, but at that price it's worth double if I part it out and scrap it- donated the interior to the Seattle Metropolitan Police Museum, too, for a resto and the trim went to Bellevue PD for their resto.
The M-coupes may develop a following/gain value, but I'd agree that the Aspens and Volares, unless a wagon or cop car, will always have more difficulty gaining in value
