I picked up an 8.75 axle housing on Saturday. Looking over the dimensions, I'm confused. It has a perch width of approx 44", and a flange width of approx 55". Assuming the truck axles are MUCH wider, is it possible this is a narrowed B Body axle? In theory, I should be able to just relocate the spring perches and bolt it right in, right?

that actually sounds like the measurements are roughly that of a 65-70 (there are three different small length changes) B-body axle. I don't have the flange to flange measurements for my axle, but it sounds close since the total width of mine (a '68) is right around 60" drum to drum. Each axle adds nearly exactly 2.5" to the width over the flange width.

So, if you don't want to relocate your springs too (which I did), just move the spring pads in to 43" on centers and bolt her in.

Mine has the .80" offset shackle kit, and those are 15x7's with 4.125" backspacing and P225/60R15's.

Thanks for that! I got my info from here. Track width is 59.2 for the B Body. Does that take into account the drum width?
