I was wondering...........

If you've had an old Mopar that you loved and got rid of for whatever reason, and you have the VIN# of the car, is it possible to "trace" the current location or owner of the car ?

Might be a stupid question, but I've never heard it discussed.......Anyone ever do this?

I've been trying to find the original owner of my car, and the possible states where he lived will only give out previous owners info with their written consent- so you see the dilemma.
If you know what state it is in, and someone in law enforcement or other agency that has access to such info, you may be able to locate it.
Search Google regularly with the vin, and if it comes up for sale, or has in the past you might get lucky.

Any other ideas?
