I really cant say I ever thought about it before. Ever wonder what undercoating weights?
I'm not sure what parts of the country, 70's Chryslers were shipped with undercoating. Here in the Hart of the rust belt, it was almost mandatory. So ok, I was standing under my 72 Dart looking at the mass of blackish textured rock, and thinking how hot that stuff was going to get. With all that "Stuff" giving off noxious fumes, maybe even catching fire.... it had to go!
So later that week, got my map torch and scraper (tip, wear long sleeves) and gave it a go. So I have this good little pile going, and then time to go. while cleaning up, I noticed it had a little weight to it... The next time, I decided to weight it when I was done with all of it... or as much as I was going to scrape.
And the magic number is.............................................17.8 pounds!
