So my battery tray should go here… but there aren’t any holes? On the back side (inner fender well) there isn’t a threaded mounting bracket either.

Do I need to drill holes and add the mounting bracket?

Also what size are the bolts? I would have assumed 5/16-18 but those don’t thread? Edit I just checked on my other car and the fender 5/16-18 threaded but that was with the use of my impact gun.

I have only one in the front through radiator support, and then one on the bottom.
This! Also, there is a small strut that bolts below the battery tray and is positioned almost in the center of the tray. Those holes you see along the inner fender are for the hold down J-rod.

I just moved my battery to the trunk, so I can't send any pictures. Perhaps someone on here will do that for you.

So did only some of the cars have them mounted to the inner fender?

My other 69 (purple car) has the battery tray mounted to the inner fender as well, and also has the threaded back metal brace… pictures.

So 2 of my 3 cars have it mounted to the inner fender…

Mounts with 3 bolts. You need 1 more bolt, with a clip pictured. It goes in the square opening. None of the bolts go into the fender apron on the 69.

Add the 3rd bolt with clip here, and you are done.
By now, you should have a million of those clips.
Those trays are pretty universal, fitting cars 67-74.
Different ways to bolt them on through the years.

I actually don’t have a million of the clips as I’ve been a dumbass and keep just buying the bolts instead of bolts w/clips. I’ll buy some more.

I added a clip on the bower bracket too, which I guess makes it look more “original,” if not it’s just a clip.

Thank you to everyone for the help.
