Another gauge issue (again)

Good Day, well here is another 1. I had a problem with the temp/fuel gauge pegging to the right when the ign was turned on.When I turned on the headlights or the turn signal they went back down so I replaced the regulator with the new type internals. Temp didnt move & the fuel barely. Thinking the part was bad I did the 7805 mod and put it all together,same thing. Fueled the car up and the fuel gauge went 3/4. So I figured I removed the new regulator for nothing cause now I now the sending unit is off but still no movement from the temp and I know the car runs hot. Any ideas???

Did you try grounding the temperture gage sending unit on the block to see if it moves with the key turned on. That will at least tell you the gage and sending unit are working.

Not quiet sure on that but I did use a test light on yhe connection and got nothing with the key on. Anything else I can try
