well i was asking about adjusting valves on a 79 318 and another member said if it was a la 318 they were un adjustable i dont know so i am asking for help on subject i apologize if it sounds stupid make fun at my expense everyone needs a good laugh

A 79 318 would not have an adjustable valvtrain from the factory.

LA stands for Light A engine, before this there were just A engines. These were refered to more commonly as the wide block 318 or the polysphere 318. They share some short block parts but not much else.

There's more to the story but this was the Readers Digest condensed version.
