i have a 72 duster i want to run wider rims and tires my leaf springs are moved in 3/4 in. i am thinking 17x9 5in bs in rear 17x8 4.5 inn bs front my car sets lower than stock any help would be great

The rears will fit just fine, I bolted up the 17x9's with 5 bs from my Challenger onto my '74 Duster. I needed a 1/4" spacer to make it work, but with the springs relocated it will fit perfect. I have 275/40/17's on my 17x9's. These are pictures with the 17x9's on the car...

In the front you'll need more than 4.5" BS on a 17x8 though. I would suggest at least 5.25" of backspace, up to a max of about 5.6" of backspace. At 17x8 and 4.5" of backspace you'll be rubbing on the fender with any decent size tire if you're lowered.

Would this also work on a 72 dart? Thanks in advance:)

The 275's? No. On a Dart with the stock spring location I think 255's are about as wide as you can safely go, and I'd stick with 17x8's with 4.5 or 4.75" backspace. Up front the same set up will work, 17x8's with 5.25 to 5.6" backspace. You can go bigger up front, but the stock wheel wells out back on a Dart are much more limiting than a Duster or Barracuda unless you do a spring offset or 3" relocation and mini-tub.

I tried the same 17x9s with 5" bs and 275s on my 71 Dart, I managed to get them on but they touched the springs AND the quarters.
