yes - is it fac 3spd? - no hurst logo or numbers on it.. should ball screw off?
thnx

thanks - I'd like to get it off and see what size threads to get a proper 4spd one. seems to need a pipe wrench to loosen..

I see a nut under the ball that can loosen...
"never mind..."

I should clarify - it is a ball from a 3peed as apparent from 3 speed shift pattern underneath the 4 spd pattern painted over it - tranny is a 4 spd. Just wondered if this is a stock or aftermarket shift lever...

are all these reverse threaded?

No. RH thread.
Loosen the lock nut under the knob first. Then unscrew the knob.
It should come off pretty easily. If it doesn't, it may be "glued" in place.

If you aren't saving the knob, use whatever tool you have to unscrew it, pipe wrench, channel locks.
You may have to chase the threads on the lever.
3/8"-16 or 3/8"-24 whatever matches the thread.

It came off fine - but it has 3/8-24 left hand threads (right to loosen, left to tighten). Reverse threads not very common on shift sticks and knobs as far as I can see. Wondered if anyone here has seen these on anything in the past. Would like to find a new shift ball, but after a lot of surfing - nothing..
