The PBS thread just reminded me of this show I used to watch and enjoy.......it's pretty ridiculous, but funny......sure beats hearing who Miley is dating or the latest on "Kim-ye".

In the not too distant future,
Next Sunday A.D.
There was a guy named Joel,
Not too different from you or me.

He worked at Gizmonic Institute,
Just another face in red jump suit.
He did a good job cleaning up the place,
But his bosses didn't like him & they shot him into space!


We'll send him cheesy movies,
The worst we can find...(la! la! la!)
He'll have to sit & watch them all,
Then we'll monitor his mind...(la! la! la!)

Now keep in mind Joel can't control,
When the movies begin & end...(la! la! la!)
Because he used those special parts,
To make his robot friends --

ROBOT ROLL CALL (Let's Go!)

Cambot (Pan Left!)
Gypsy (Hi Girls!)
Tom Servo (Hi Tall Guy!)
Crooooooow (I'm The Wisecracker!)

If you're wondering how he eats & breathes,
And other science facts...(la! la! la!)
Then repeat to yourself its just a show,
I should really just relax...For Mystery Science Theater

Yes I thought is was entertaining but only in small doses.
They did have some really funny lines, some I was able to use myself.
 
I loved watching that show! I forgot about it until I seen your post. I dont think I could get my daughter or Fiance to watch it if it were on today. They probably wouldnt understand the humor.

I totally agree. It might be really cool to watch if I were really trapped up in space! I think I used to enjoy watching it after I got home from work at 11:00pm, and needed some "unwind time" before I slept.
 
remember the one with the two army's of monkeys getting ready to go to battle? the one gets of his horse and shoots lightening bolts out of his ***!
