Anybody do plastic molding with chemicals?

I'm working on a project to reproduce some plastic parts. These are thin 1/16 inch translucent parts. I'm either using the wrong chemicals or something in my process is wrong. The chemicals aren't cheap. I'm using a vacuum chamber for my chemicals, I'm hoping someone here is a hobbyist doing some of this stuff. Are you talking about resin casting parts? I'll bet if you ask in the model building section here you might get some answers.
