anyone ever fab stainless steel headers ?

We've built motorcycle frames but never tryed stainless steel headers ..anyone ever done this...looking for big tube stainless steel headers for our 440/Dart app.

Talked to an old bro fab guy..said he could make me equal length 440 ..
2 inch...SS headers $2500

have not tried it yet but if i can find the time and money im sure gone try before this summer but i just have a smallblock and no real big need of equal lengths in my application

On last weeks muscle car TV they made a set of headers for a Cuda. They started with a set of block hugger headers then the bought a bunch of U bent pipes and start fabricating. Bascially, they used the flange and collectors and everything in between was hand made.

The headers they made were not stainless steel I would imagine the techique to build them would be the same.

The guys on there said they had $300 in the headers and another $200 in additional pipes.

Maybe you could make a set like they did? Those guys made it look so easy! lol.

Usually Stainless turns to a gold color. Blueing is caused by too much heat.... or too thin of material.
