hey guys

as some of you know, i teach a sundayschool class

i was thinking of painting a life size map of the land where Jesus walked on of the walls
in my searchings i found a few companies that print custom wall paper and it isnt that much more expensive then painting, and it looks way better then i could have done so im seriously considering it

anyone have tried this before?

(this is the map i want, but with a few details added)

Yes, had one (custom wallpaper) done at the last dealer I worked for. The one we ordered was massive. Aprox 20'x14', the company we used did everything, the art work, design, and installation. That was Aug 2016 and was still there as of last Feb and looks just as good as ever.
I'm thinking it ran $1500 or so. The fact we had license to use several images took the cost down. The copyright was a huge issue at the time and may well be for you as well. The company refused to print anything without those license's. If you glom something off the internet, you better make sure you have permission.

I work in a graphics shop that does just that; printing large format decals, signing, windows graphics, posters and also wallpapers.
We have a 64" wide printer and laminator and special printmedia for this.

thanks guys
@gunbunny i will see if i can find the people who own that image and i'll see if they are willing to let me use it

i know, the promised land is much smaller then i thought, thats why it works out

so, here is something i was wondering, can this be laminated on something i can use white board markers on?

ill grab some measurements today when i go out to clean my class room, that might give me a better idea of the total size of this thing

just for fun, i wouldnt mind hearing a ball park figure on what your company would charge, although shipping would probably kill it

Try Power Graphics in Fremont, MI. Owned by Brenda Gilliand. I know her and her husband. In fact, a close friend of mine is married to her sister. She does all kinds of stuff, including wrapping several semis for husband’s business and his Silver Lake toys.

BTW: Your inbox is full!!

I like to give you another choice that my be easier and cheaper to achieve your objective. I sure we all had the pleasure viewing one of these devices, a transparency projector. Project your image on the wall and draw and paint it in. Or they do make a reflective projector that sits on the picture that you need to have it enlarged. And if you want to get high tech. Borrow or rent a HD project and insert your sim card and have a HD picture on the wall to trace over.....

ha, i do remember those
that might not be a bad idea either
(at the same time, Preacher mentioned just switching classroom to one which has a TV which would allow me to do the same thing as you mentioned, just run the image from a card)

allright, sounds like the whole thing is off the table
i will be given the room with the TV so, i can use that

thanks for all the help guys
