The same truck that my future donor 360 is in also happens to be 2wd.... so I have a good small block 46RH.... now I know the RH is hydraulically controlled while the later later 46RE's were electronic...

Now I do know that the 46rh has some electrical inputs and does utilize some sort of electrical input from the engine control pcm. Has anyone successfully done this on the cheap and made it work? It would be really nice to have overdrive so I could run some deeper gears!!

edit: maybe not the ideal donor.... but I already have it, Im not using it, and its paid for..... (is why I ask)

I thought that the only thing needed was some type of switch needed to "engage" the overdrive.

It acts like a 3 speed until the switch is flipped?

The 46RH is the same tranny as an A518, mopar just changed the designation.

The electrical connections engage the OD gear and locks the torque converter.

Yes you can use a switch to manually control the OD and torque converter but if you look around I have seen instructions on how to use a couple of pressure switches to have it happen automatically.

thats an awesome link. I was thinking about selling the trans.. but now its gonna end up in the Dart!!
