Anyone have a CARFAX or vin check account?

just keep in mind not everything shows on the carfax
I bought a car once after running the carfax on it and it showed no body work on it
a few weeks later I was cleaning out the car and found a bill from a body shop for a front end repaint
I called the previous owner and he told me he was driving behind a gravel truck and some of the gravel fell off and chipped the front end pretty bad
the gravel companies insurance picked up the tab and so it never showed on the carfax

Car fax only shows anything that was run thru insurance . My mother-in-law took off her mirror and the dealer wanted to run it thru insurance so it would show up on the Carfax and charge her 200 bucks . I picked one up at the wreckers changed it in 15 minutes and only cost 30 bucks .
