If you have a 1970 swinger 340 4-speed i need to know the three number diget on your build sheet for the driveshaft. Thanks!

I know the part# for the 70-71 340 4sp Swinger driveshaft is 2883760.
Width of the inside of the U-joints yokes is 2 and 1/8" (Type 7260)
Length: 48.96"
Diameter: 2.75"

I have a 2883756 driveshaft out of a 1972 scamp. Trying to see if it will work but it is 52.5 center to center. I would think a scamp and dart driveshaft would be the same.
758 on mine.
2883758 51.96" 7260 3" diameter
The part number etc is straight from the parts book.
That 48.96 length one sounds like a Duster/Demon 904 or 4 speed/8.75 shaft. I know there is a PDF sheet floating around that has some bizaar lengths for driveshafts.

Where are the #'s stamped on the drive shaft. I couldn't find them on mine ?

They are stamped on the housing usually around 1/4 of the way past the u-joint. They are hard to find but they are there. If it is rusty you may have to sandblast it to see them.
:thumrigh: Thx for the info moparrjm. I'll take a look this weekend and see if I can find them. It would have been much easier when it was out of the car, but out of curiousity, I'm gonna look LOL. It's not rusty at all, just painted :smile:
