Anyone own an AMC?

-
Picked up a 71k miles Spirit this fall. Two owner car, sold about 40 miles from me. It's a 258 auto with AC PS PB AMFM. Runs and drives great. Gets looks everytime I have it out. I am thinking about doing what dragpak has done. I have a 360 and a 904 that I would like to drop in and play with. I think it would be fun. My bro-in-law has 68 AMX 390 4spd that is a blast to drive. Still a Mopar guy thru and thru, but AMC's are different and cool. Hey dragpak, what did you use for mounts on your swap? homemade or some kind of hybrid conglomeration. I'll follow your thread if you post your build. I should do the same with my build.

64' Rambler Classic 770 Cross Country! My wife wants it for hauling the dogs and smoking the tires! Got a 318 /8 3/4 and ladder bars waiting!
Got to get harnesses for the dogs! :D

Mine was the straight six 904 car orignaly but couldnt get it to run right. I made my frame mounts out of a flat plate of 1/4 inch steel. Welded it to the six frame mount and drilled the hales for the rubber motor mounts. Used the truck pan and truck exhaust manifolds. Looks like tight fit headers would fit great. My motor and tranny came from a duster so I had the short shaft 904 so everything lined up like the mount and driveshaft. But had to use a floor shifter because the amc tranny has a cast mount for the column shifter that didnt mach my mopar one. Even using the stock six radiator and no over heating issues.

That's just sweet looking AMC.

Kinda diggin' your '64...I like the front end tie in from fender to grill.

Thanks guys

I've been driving the wheels off my Rambler while I'm waiting for my 68 Cuda to come back from the body shop. It's a very nice car to drive and it will get it's turn at restoration when the Cuda is done.

I found this gremlin at Grove Creek Raceways During one of their first swap meets here in mn. It blew me away and loved them ever since. Was desighned and biult by Kenny Youngblood. Seen it for sale again here in mn.

was that car in muscle car review? and was it a lime green color or a red/white/blue ?

It was lime green but not the "big bad" color green...it was in an AMC calendar back in 2002 or so...
