Have a 74 dart sport 360 car that I need to buy wheels for.

The Problem: I have a set of Centerline convo pro’s in 15x7 (3 3/8” backspace) and 15x8.5” (5” backspace) that I can’t use.
-The rears are too close to the leaf springs - WITH A 275 60 15 THEY touch on the right and have less than 1/4” space on the left and 255 60” will only increase that space to a little under 1/2” clearance on the right. Too close for me.
-The front don’t have enough backspace and the only way I can use them is go with maybe a 215/60 front and then it will still only clear the front fender by about 3/8”. Too close for me.

The solution:
-I’m comfortable using a 15x8 (4.5” backspace) on the rear with a 255 60 15 tire. This will give me a good inch and hair clearance from the the spring each side which I’m happy with.

-a 15x7 with 3.75” backspace still sticks out a tad too far and has me having to use a shorter 215/60r15 (25.2” tall) tire with still not that much clearance to the front fender at the bottom. So: I’m think if I went with a 15x6 front with 3.66”backspace that would definitely get the tire and wheel in further and might allow me to use a 215/65R15, a 26” tall tire which is only .6” taller than the stock 205/70r14 (which are 25.4”) on the front.

and FINALLY
The question: what’s the opinion on 15x6 fronts, will they look goofy?

The pictures show the convo’s touching on the rear and touching on the front with a 215/70r/15 (which I know is too tall of a tire at 26.9”)

i run a 15x8 with 4.5 inches of backspacing on my 71 duster
the tires on the back are 275/60-15

i had to run about a 3/16 spacer to get far enough away from my springs (and its way closer then what you are trying to get)

and 15x7 with 3.75 backspacing with 205/65 up front
the backspacing for my front is perfect and i like the way the side wall looks
on a 15x6 the sidewall would look more bulging, if you catch my drift

so perhaps a 15x7 with 3.25 backspacing would fit the front best?

and for the back, if you got the studs for it, just run a 1/2 inch spacer

When I first got my Duster going, I had 15x6 on front with 205/70 and 15x8 on back with 275/60. Rear BS was 4.5. I can't remember what the front was. I had a 8.25 rear from a 75 Dart in it. I spaced the spring hangars back with shims to gain some clearance at the leading edge of the Quarters. Tires were very close to the springs and would occasionally rub the springs and inner wheelhouse. Here's an old pic:

Anyone else with 15x6 fronts? I’m primarily interested in front only, I’ve got my plan sorted for the rears!

I also have 15x8 4.5 inch backspace 275/60/15 and 3/16 spacer.
Have 15x6.5 stock mooar rallies or 7 inch wheel vintques on the front.
Not sure if 6.5 or after market 7s been some time and I have lots of wheels
