I was a little suprised today when I visited the magazine rack at Wal-Mart and saw a 1974 Dart graceing the front cover of the April issue of Classic Cars and Parts. The smaller print says; "A Classic Car For Under $10K". The car is also on the contents page of the issue as well as having its own 6-page spread inside. Some of the specifications they list for the car are as follows;
- number built, 263,467
- construction is unibody
- engines, 198, 226, 318, 360
- power/torque
198= 95hp/145lb-ft
225= 105hp/180lb-ft
318= 150hp/255lb-ft
360= 245hp/320lb-ft
- wheelbase, 111 inches
- weight, 3,330lbs
- 0-60mph/quarter mile (318) 9.6 sec/16.8 @80mph
- MPG. 13-17
- price, MSRP $3,518 (Dart Swinger Hardtop) Today- $3,600 to $8,950
- alternative car in 1974 were the Pontiac GTO (looked like a Nova) and the AMC Javelin
- they list 4 web-sites as good references and none of them were this site, for shame!
- This particular lime green cover car is for sale for $13,500 and can be seen at; www.southbeachclassics.com.

I couldn't believe this guy wanted his asking price for this Dart. It's missing the front turn signal lenses and the front bumper isn't even polished out, as you can see where the bumperettes were mounted and the chrome where they sat is much more shiney. I wont even go on about the cheap white wall tires reversed with the white wall facing in and the painted "Swinger" emblem area. For what he's asking I would expect much better. Heck, even the exhaust pipes are plain and round with no chrome tips. For $13,500 I would expect better.

Thirteen-five is too much for a 1974 anything.

Okay guys, I've got my flamesuit on, prove me wrong. :-D

i belive you can buy the cover 4an advert.

can some post here the 4 web sites they list..?
