Asbestos in body fillers

I have just read that body fillers made before 1978 contain Asbestos.
With all the body work done on A bodies and other cars this cannot be a good thing for us.

ah heck its on the outside. won't hurt none. haha wow asbestos bondo and lead based paint. very very tasty

As long as you dont make it into small airborne particles it wont hurt you, wearing a respirator when you do your body work will keep you safe, plus its just common sense. Many many things contain asbestos, insulation, fiber reinforced rubber gaskets, packing on pipe valves, drywall, some glues etc... As long as you dont disturb it youll be fine.
