Astronaut John Glenn,hospitalised at 95...

I saw that elsewhere, but misplaced the link before I had a chance to read it. Thank you for posting it here. Truly, he is a member of our Greatest Generation. In the words of Scott Carpenter, "Godspeed, John Glenn!"

One of our greatest heroes!
John Glenn flew 149 combat missions during WWII and Korea earning the nicknames
MiG-Mad Marine and Old Magnet *** for bringing his fighters back full of holes from flying at low altitudes.
God Speed indeed...truly "Zero-G and feeling fine" now.

A Great man on the final adventure...

A final Salute to you, John Glenn.

High Flight
Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, — and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of — wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air… .

Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew —
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

— John Gillespie Magee, Jr

Any one remember when they would broadcast every launch on the intercom at school!

Those were the days!

God Bless!
