lying on my back in the dirt struggling to bolt the front valance and inner fender shields, on the 65 cuda, the little woman walks by and says : having trouble dear"? I tell her yea, got 6 bolts per side for valance plus the ones for the inner fender stuff. had to do lyin her, sorta strainin my neck and all parts below... tells me the mechanic in town has this lift he puts cars up o n and those noisy air tool things.
asks why I tend to swear workin on that car!???? says the mechanic in town doesn't seem to get raddled!
another thing occurred to me. if Plymouth took as long to get the front valance screwed on going down the assenly line, as I did, they only turned out 3 cars per day!??? no wonder ford sold 1 million stangs and Plymouth sold 10,000 cudas?????????? I have to wonder?????

Sounds to me like shes telling you to buy a hoist , big compressor and a set of air tools . She got a sister ?

LOL... I did week ago find pretty decent uused compressor..... now. gotta find bout $75 for wiring, breaker box, etc....... air tools... had some ... what ever happened to them..... hey I got chain hoist hooked to rafter of shed. no concrete, engine hoist be useless......
maybe she will spring for concrete????? naw......
O K so I have less patience working in 95 degree heat, on the dirt and gravel. but i'm thankful there is a roof!!! LOL

Was she wearing a skirt?

I would have been working under the car also.... gigity, gigity...

nekkid upskirt would been the best but just a good eye view woulda made all the difference in yer 'tude from the car not going the way you would have liked it!!!!

Ok, it's getting hard to discretely look up her skirt with all of you under here with me....

You all are going to get us busted.... :evil3:

Not to mention, it's very crowded.... :toothy1:

Back in the say all cars were bolted together. Today they are snap together and they break when you have to disassemble them, that is how we build 1,300 - 1,400 per day at our plant

Very few fasteners in new cars

I was out in the garage one day struggling to get a head off an engine. No amount of cussing, grunting or throwing of tools seemed to make it want to cooperate.
Then my lovely bride walks by on her way to get some gardening tool or something and asks me why I just don't remove that last bolt there. Damn smart alec woman!

I was once pulling the intake off my 340, when a friend Pete came by and offered to help. Well, I undid all the bolts on the driver's side and he undid all the bolts on his side. we started to pry on the intake to get it off. It was being difficult. I asked him if he got all of the bolts, and he said that he did. So we start prying with a pry bar and hear a crack.... :violent1:

Then Pete says, "Hey, I missed a bolt...." :pale:

there goes my stock intake for my 340.... :banghead:
