At a total loss for an explanation

My car did the exact same thing and it was a faulty ECU.
It would start up just fine and in a few minutes it would just die. Had fuel and would spin but it would not even try and start. Let it sit for an hour and it would start right up.

It wasnt my car, but I was troubleshooting a 77 Dodge Stakebody Truck, 318 , 4 speed , bug truck but small engine, anyway I followed the troubleshooting book, and couldnt really determine it was the Ignition module, not by going by the book anyway, I got pissed and went and bought one, threw it in and it started right up. I suppose if I ruled everything else out and had to "throw a dart" with the Ignition module, I would. they are finnicky things those ECU 's
