I have a 66 Dart 273 engine. The rod from the carb to the trans is keeping the carb from going to full throttle. i am guessing it is for the kick down? Car seems to run and shift fine with it disconnected . Will this cause the trans to have problems.

Follow a 1966 service manual and adjust the linkages. A 6" 3/16" rod is used in the firewall bracket to adjust the transmission rod. The carb rod is adjusted by pulling linkage forward with throttle closed align with ball joint, then lengthen rod 4 turns and connect.

that rod controls line pressure, if you run without it, the clutches will fry. adjust it out asap.
