My duster has a a904 in it, I really dig the car but I don't like driving automatics. A guy I know has a few a833's lying around with bellhousings. I was curious what I would have to modify on my '74 duster with a 318. Thanks.

Cut floor and install floor piece for 4 speed. Also need pedals, tranny, bell housing, clutch, etc... Also lots I'd beer, band aids (because you'll cut yourself) and make sure no one you want to offend is near by because you'll probably be swearin up a blue streak (usually over pain that or frustration).

The main thing I'm concerned about is the transmission support, along with driveline length etc. Does anyone have a picture of there 4 speed under there car?

Also dont forget the crankshaft, doesnt it have to be machined to accept the input shaft? I may be wrong on that, I also want to do a 4 speed conversion. I have everything but the floor hump. And time, I need time do it lol

yup, not all cranks are machined to fit a pilot bushing, you can use a later style pilot bearing that fits in the torque converter register, this option may require shortening the trans input shaft, 904 and A-body a-833 should use the same length driveshaft
