I'm in the process of rebuilding my 8.25". Was wondering what part number to use for axle bearings cause the master rebuild kit I bought for my diff had the wrong size carrier bearing and I don't want to buy the wrong axle bearings over and over again.

There are two sizes of carrier bearings for the 8.25
Are the ones you got too big or too small?
I'll look as I probably have the part numbers for both here.

Ok, here we go.
The larger bearings are LM102949 and LM102910 or equivalent (bearing and cups 2 of each)
those are for the 70-75' era 8.25's.

The later carrier has LM102910 outer race and LM102949 or equivalent. (bearings and cups 2 of each)
These are the smaller size carrier bearings.

Got them from Denny's Driveshaft because I wanted quality bearings.

I'm just thanking God: No Green Bearing discussion.

Lol...the worst part was I order the proper year and rock auto has the same kit from 70-80's. So they got it wrong but I already had them pressed on. Lesson learned. I really only need the axle bearings now.
