I need to remove the glass from the back of my 65 barracuda to paint. The front glass is cracked, so if it breaks I'm going to replace it anyway. The back glass is in good shape.
Thanks for any ideas,
Tommy

When I did mine, I was told to just cut the rubber and buy a new gasket. I had a good used gasket but bought a new one anyway, and boy am I glad I did. It was so much easier working with new pliable rubber when getting that big puppy back in. Compared to the one I thought was a good used one, I can see that the used one was going to be a bear to work with. Bought a new lockstrip too, and glad I did that too. Contact Deuchmann Automotive. He sells everything for at least $10.00 less than everybody else. Good luck with the window, Geof

Does your glass have the rubber lockstrip? my 62-63 valiants all did----
Take the lock strip out--- care fully work the edges of the seal next to the glass-- both inside & out(releases the seal & glue used)-- I use a 2" wide flexible putty knife.(plastic would be better)
Then start in the top corner or bottom -- whichever comes out easier-- push the glass out carefully while pulling away on the outside lip of the seal----- once you get a corner out it peels out quickly---- the sun is your friend-- also wood shims from the hardware store work great.

All of the above works.

I like the cut the gasket idea... when I do mine I will buy new gaskets anyways.

It's getting cooler here in the south so to make things much easier I would recommend to have the car in a warm shop for a few hours before you start.
