I have a running 318 setting in my floor that runs and was thinking of dropping it in the 66 Polara while we rebuild the engine (383) in it.....question is will the 318 drop in without any major problems????

you would need the specific oil pan engine mounts and such for the polara, its do-able and where your in texas you won't have to worry about winter so you have longer cruising seasons

Only thing I'd worry much about is driveshaft length.
Wasn't 66 still the all big block and the 318 poly/A? Don't think that LA318 motor mounts are the same, so you might have to go custom for the motor mounts, and I assume you'll at least have to relocate the trans crossmember.
