Found this in my wife's Facebook feed. If it has been posted elsewhere in the past I apologize. I wasn't quite sure what to search for to make sure it hadn't been posted previously. I'm not an engine guy, so I'm going by what I read in the comments. Supposedly, it WAS a 40 year old 440 block. I can't make any definitive claims, cause I don't know squat when it comes to this stuff. What I do know is that I'm sure the owner was mighty pissed off!

With Brodix heads and looks like stroker crank, wonder what RPM and HP he was pushing when it went......
 
Little JB Weld and it'll be good as new.....
That's, and those little clamps they sell to add strength to the oil pan...it's pretty clear that pan failed to hold the block together


On a side note...does this still beat a good day at work?
 
I actually found the story behind the motor. It was in a 68 Charger being driven by Dale Brand. He hadn't raced this particular car in about 20 years, and didn't even get it out of the burnout box. Click here for the link.
