I want to buy a better tool for separating ball joints for suspension work. I do not like the pickle forks as they damage rubber boot and have bent the threaded stud on stuck tapers.
I saw these tools made by OTC, GearWrench, KD tools, and others. Do they work on upper and lower ball joints. Thanks for your feedback.

No tool needed if concerned about boot damage. Backoff nut 1/2". Insert pry bar in a way to exert separation pressure and smack spindle. It will separate.

I have the same harbor fraight tool it works VERY well.

Pickle fork sucks.
