I have a quick question that maybe someone can help me with. I am doing a disc brake conversion on my 67 barracuda. What is the torque specs on the upper ball joint nut. My shop manual says 100 ft lbs and that worked for the right side but when I was torqueing the left side the nut and ball joint threads stripped out. Luckily I was able to get the nut off but now I suspect that my be wrong torque specs. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. First time poster.

It's a 67. I'm pretty sure I figured it out. It says under the torque specs all models except valiant. And under that it says valiant 55 foot lbs. It does not specify Barracuda but I'm sure it falls under the same specs. Argghh. Live and learn.

If the nut is binding, there is no way to get an accurate torque spec. I would make sure to address that first.
