Regarding the kickdown and low/reverse band adjustments...can you gauge how much life/material is left in a band by the amount of threads left on the adjuster screws (after performing proper adjustments)?

What's considered good / what's considered "worn"?

I'm not really having any issues, but I am curious - thanks!

Bands back in the fifties were designed to wear, but the newer ones are not designed to wear at all. The friction material is so thin that once it wears, it's gone.

Interesting. Does that mean that with the newer bands, there is no need for periodic adjustment (assuming no issues arise)?

I adjust the front band on the AMX, AMC type 904 every 25 runs. But it has a aluminum drum. And it changes very little.
