I know some A bodies have bars that run from the fender up to the cowl/firewall. Is it worth adding to a non-equipped car for the extra support/stiffening? My 72 Dart doesn't have them but I can get them from a 75 Dart and shorten them some so I will only have to drill holes by the cowl/firewall between two pinch welds.

There was another thread about this a while back. All I can say is that it can't hurt and very well might help to stiffen up the front end.

Ok. Thanks. I know that I will have to drill a hole on each side of the firewall/cowl pinch weld as well as the bars are to long to line up with the fender bolt holes so I can cut the bars, measure, cut, tack, re-fit, weld, and then paint. Will post some pics when done

The ones that go diagonally from the cowl, to the upper fender do very little structurally.

About all they are good for is controlling the sheet metal giggle.
