I have what I believe is a 69 BB radiator.
My question is why is there a tag on top of the radiator numbers?
It looks like it was punched while on the radiator?
The pic on the right is a radiator without the tag.

I think the other number is a VENDOR code

Thank you for the info, but maybe the pics are not that clear, (or my question, lol).

The radiator I have is stamped 2949065, as is the one in the other pic.

Mine however has a tag on top of the number 2949065 that appears to have been stamped along with the number on the radiator, 2949065.
The tag fits in the rectangle where the number is stamped.

On the left side the tag is coming up and I can see the same number underneath. Both the number on the tag and the number on the radiator line up perfectly, (at least on the left side where I can see under).

It's definitely a 69 BB radiator, I don't think anyone is trying to place a tag on top and fake something- just seems strange and I was wondering if that was a common practice in 69?

You got me on that one

I have seen some with no numbers stamped at all but those have been small block rads.I have one non-stamped sitting in my garage right now.
