We are about to enter the BBQ season. Therefore it is important to refresh your memory on the etiquette of this sublime outdoor cooking activity . When a man volunteers to do the BBQ the following chain of events are put into motion:

(1) The woman buys the food.

(2) The woman makes the salad, prepares the vegetables, and makes dessert.

(3) The woman prepares the meat for cooking, places it on a tray along with the necessary cooking utensils and sauces, and takes it to the man who is lounging beside the grill - beer in hand.

(4) The woman remains outside the compulsory three meter exclusion zone where the exuberance of testosterone and other manly bonding activities can take place without the interference of the woman.

Here comes the important part:

(5) THE MAN PLACES THE MEAT ON THE GRILL.

(6) The woman goes inside to organise the plates and cutlery.

(7) The woman comes out to tell the man that the meat is looking great. He thanks her and asks if she will bring another beer while he flips the meat

Important again:

( THE MAN TAKES THE MEAT OFF THE GRILL AND HANDS IT TO THE WOMAN.

(9) The woman prepares the plates, salad, bread, utensils, napkins, sauces, and brings them to the table.

(10) After eating, the woman clears the table and does the dishes

And most important of all:

(11) Everyone PRAISES the MAN and THANKS HIM for his cooking efforts.

(12) The man asks the woman how she enjoyed ' her night off ', and, upon seeing her annoyed reaction, concludes that there's just no pleasing some women.

It’s probably true in many households but if I tried that here I would have to take my hat off to wipe my ***
 
Thats not the way things go in my house. We are a team, and we both do our share. I do most of the grilling, if only because my wife doesn’t register the cooking times and temperature as well as I do. But I also do my fair share of the periphery items as well. I went to school to be a chef, and I know how to read meat products. However, when I cater events, my wife and son are excellent help, they know how to assemble dishes and get the job done. We all work as a team, and I try to teach them more advanced stuff as time goes on. I have my son making the sauces, the wife puts together many different dishes, and when at home she is always experimenting with cooking and baking new stuff. She is an expert at making pasties (she’s Finnish), and making and baking desserts. My son also went through culinary in high school, and is the manager of a Jets Pizza outlet in town. Not the most culinary position, but it gives him experience in the business aspect of culinary as well. For the record, we don’t do catering as a business, only for charity events and special occasions for friends and family. Although we seem to be high in demand.

I don’t like those stereotype type posts, ladies and gentlemen can both equally excel in most everything we do.

Here’s a practice dish we made at home for a big wedding. I believe it was Chicken Parmesan. We always make a practice run at home before making it for an event. Also a pic of my first sous chef, had to let her go tho, she was pretty much set in her ways by then.

My favorite meals are the ones me and the wife cook together
She does have a tendency to get in my when we're cooking, if you get when I mean
