Hi everyone. My bench seat is whack on the driver side. The springs are flat and all of the tiny cross wires are just hanging there. Has anyone ever repaired these themselves? Walkthrough? Or am I best giving the seat to a upholstery shop?

The crosswires that are going through the burlap on the bottom side?

My driver side springs were a little worn and the upholstery shop gave me a tip. They said get some thick bailing type wire and run them crossways down the length of the bench seat. Hog ring, zip tie or whatever way you want to attach them to each spring as you go. This should stiffen up the springs by spreading out the tension.

I looked at the springs and what it would take to take them off and reattach them and I wasn't excited about trying it. Seems easy to be able to destroy the attachment flaps. At that point you either have to weld the springs on or get another seat.
