This did it for me. Ever since then I been hooked. I grew up knowing all of them. Gregg lived only a half mile away from us when I was a kid. My sister and I would ride over there almost every Sunday morning before church and he would come out on the front porch and shoot the breeze with us. I was probably five.
One mornin we went and the whole band was there just sittin around. They whipped this out just for us. I still get goosebumps when I hear it.

i was at the INTL airport in Dubai, Saudi Arabia on my way to Houston and they have a huge area with stores and a massive food court, and there was a vendor near the food court who was selling music Cds and he was promoting US Rock to sell more "foreign" Cds so he was playing a lot of 70s and 80s rock and while i was eating i heard this song and stuck to me so much i had to have a male ask him what is the song title and artist i later put it on my I-pod and i have it on my playlist to this day and bcoz that song i have other songs by Yes like roundabout :D

Das a goodun, Miss 4 Speed.

When I was growing up, dad always had old records and cassettes with bands like the Who, black Sabbath, CCR, Deep Purple, Bread, Led Zep, so I always liked them, plus I listened to alot of oldies while building model cars as a kid too.

But the one song that did it for me and got me hooked was "In the Evening" by Led Zepplin....I was maybe 10 years old? Had an old 45 record player that we had, went through the records and put this one on, first time I heard it I thought it was real baddass and felt like I shouldn't be listening to it or I might get into trouble!! LOL.....I still love that song and the band, every time I hear it, it brings me back to the time I was sitting on the bedroom floor by the record player......I still have that old record, I will get a pic of it :glasses7:

Bad moon risen by Creadence Clearwater Revival or CCR for short :glasses7:

I remember hearing these in the 70's and they all made very profound impressions-

Styx- Renegade
Heart- Magic Man
Thin Lizzy- The Boys are Back
(for reference, I was about six)

In the 80's it was-

Journey- Stone in Love
Judas Priest- Electric Eye
Metallica- Seek and Destroy
Savatage- Hall of the Mountain King
Accept- Balls to the Wall
Fear- More Beer

90's-

Ministry- Jesus Built My Hotrod
Smashing Pumpkins- Cherub Rock
L7- Shitlist

I recently heard a replay of the top 40 for one of the weeks of 1974.

The Boys are Back, and Heart's Crazy on You were featured.
Those two songs sounded so modern and progressive compared to the other offerings, which included-

Afternoon Delight
Something by Seals and Crofts
Something by the Bay City Rollers
ELO

Which all sounded either late 60's or VERY 70's by comparison.
Heart and Lizzy's songs sounded like they could have been written last month, instead of four decades ago!

This song got me hooked on Thousand Foot Krutch.

Kinduva tie.....here's a couple I heard when I was a kid that made me just sit back and think "whoa!"......they still both give me goosebumps!

Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin

We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands,
To fight the horde, singing and crying: Valhalla, I am coming!

On we sweep with threshing oar, Our only goal will be the western shore.

Ah, ah,
We come from the land of the ice and snow,
From the midnight sun where the hot springs blow.
How soft your fields so green, can whisper tales of gore,
Of how we calmed the tides of war. We are your overlords.

On we sweep with threshing oar, Our only goal will be the western shore.

So now you'd better stop and rebuild all your ruins,
For peace and trust can win the day despite of all your losing.
