What's the thought on best prep and wax for original paint? I believe the original paint on my 1975 Scamp is acrylic enamel. There is some oxidation, but it's not that bad. What should be the proper prep before waxing? What's everyones experience? I do remember my Dad getting cans of MoPar carnuaba wax - man, did that stuff smell good!

Probably a matter of opinion but if your not going to buff it out first
Meguiars cleaner-wax would work fine and take away some of the oxidation, maybe do it twice if you dont have a machine.

Best way would be to buff it out first, those old enamels usually clean up
really well.Than wax it.

The easiest thing you could use is Meguiar's ColorX one-step cleaner wax. Its pretty good removing oxidation and mild surface blemishes and leaves a nice, protective polymer finish. Prior to using ColorX, I also recommend you clay all painted surfaces with Clay Magic's body clay.
